Working with newborns can often present unexpected challenges yet it's incredibly rewarding. In order to have the best experience with your newborn session I do my best to make it as stress free and relaxed as possible. During the session I encourage parents and siblings to get involved, however I do ask that small children not run around whilst I'm photographing for safety reasons.
Newborns tend to dictate how the sessions goes, if they need feeding or changing during the session, time is included so baby can be as comfortable as possible so they hopefully settle into a sweet, comfy sleep which benefits our session.
Please also feel reassured that I hold both a working with children's check and police check and I've also had over ten years experience working in childcare with lots of newborn experience and stressed parent experience.
How long will the shoot take? Generally 1 and a half to 2 hours.
When should I book in my newborn shoot? Are you pregnant now? If so, call me with your expected due date and we'll make a provisional booking. Once baby is born you can call or message me to book in you session day and time. It's best to book your session between days 5 to 10 after birth as babies are more sleepy and easy to pose into those beautiful newborn positions, however I'm happy to also shoot newborns after this period but it can be a little trickier to get some of those squishy newborn shots. If you've already had your baby you can also make a booking as I do have flexibility to take last minute bookings.
Where will the shoot take place? In the comfort of your home. I will bring all the props and equipment needed. You supply the baby!
What will I dress baby in? It doesn't matter. As essentially for the session baby will be naked and or wrapped in our props.
What to have in hand for baby? Nappies, dummies and if your not breast feeding please have ample supplies of milk.
When do I pay? To secure your booking I require a non refundable deposit of $50 with the balance due on the day of your session before the shoot takes place.
